Bobby Hull think Hawks would have rolled over Pens in Final

If you listened to Bobby Hull's interview last weekend on WGN-AM (720) during the Blackhawks Convention, the Pittsburgh Penguins were lucky to have played the Detroit Red Wings in an epic 7 game series for the Stanley Cup. If the Pens had faced the Hawks? Bobby Hull seems to think they would have walked all over us.

Hull implied to the convention faithful that the Hawks were a series upset against the Wings away from the Stanley Cup, that the Pens were an afterthought. Hey Bobby, its easy to say when you were sitting at home watching with the rest of the Hawks camp. How many guys on your club were in the lead in playoff scoring after three rounds?

Your highest overall playoff scorer was Martin Havlat in 13th place. Sure we got to play an extra round along with the Wings. But the Ducks and Washington had higher scorers and played a round less than you did. Marc-Andre Fleury was 7th in GAA. Guess who was dead last? Thats right, it was Nikolai Khabibulin at a shade under 3 (2.93). Oh I'm sure people were dead afraid of your impressive (78%) Penalty Kill. The Blackhawks were only .500 when scoring first in the playoffs which means you can''t do much with a lead (compare to PIT .704 or DET .909)

Yeah sure, the Hawks would have just rolled over the Pens. Get beyond Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Havlat and who did you have? Maybe Brian Campbell could have pinched in on a few more plays and given us some additional breakaways.

Did I mention that Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg and Dave Bolland all had more productive playoff runs than ole Cap'n Toews?

I need to get some of that Chicago water. We won, you lost. Win your Conference before throwing the gauntlet down like this you moron. It's funny because prior to July 1st I liked your organization. One bone head (Marian Hossa) signing and now this loud mouth blabber combined with the firing of Dale Tallon and I have lost much if not all of that respect.

And I now have plenty of reasons to root against you. Kaner find a new team so I can like your sweater again.

Wow. You gotta be kidding me. So Hull thinks that a team the Red Wings had an easy time with would have easily beat the Pens? LOL

If I saw Bobby Hull I'd remind him of 1992. Another sweep of the Hawks by the Pens would have been far more likely than a Hawks Cup win. Old idiot... Good find BTW

Meh.. I wouldn't put much in Hull's comments. He's just pandering to the crowd telling them what they wanted to hear. Plus he very well could have been drunk.

And actually, Toews was third on the team in points (7G, 6A) in the playoffs behind Havlat and Kane.

Contrary to what the other comments say, I think Hull knows what he is talking about, he is the best ever, in my opinion. It even runs in the family. I can't wait to see him play at the sports challenge, should be interesting!
