Mark Madden just wanted to make sure we all knew he was a blowhard

Mark Madden was published in the Beaver County Times yesterday where he called the Wings and their fans classless. After reading through the article I have a few problems with some of the assertions that Mark makes. First he contends that the Wings fans quit when the game was 2-0. I didn't see that, and I definitely didn't see that out of the team itself. I am sure there were some fans who lost hope, but they were surely reinvigorated when the Wings drew it to one goal in the mid-3rd. Madden goes on:
Then, when the Stanley Cup was presented to Sidney Crosby, I was shocked by the avalanche of boos. It was classless, and I don’t recall it happening when Detroit picked up the Cup at Mellon Arena last year. In fact, I recall respectful applause from a heartbroken crowd.

Yeah, not so much Mark. You're reaching to start a fight that isn't here. I've watched the Cup presentation and the post game celebrations as much as any fan on replay at NHL.com, YouTube and Hulu. There were a small number of boos. The word avalanche is totally inappropriate here. Stop reaching to upset people, they weren't booing anymore than we (and yes there was a small amount of booing at Mellon Arena) were last year. Each city has classy and classless fans. Don't act like Pittsburgh fans are all without fail the epitome of class.
Then Red Wings forward Kris Draper [and Henrik Zetterberg] complained because Crosby didn’t shake Nicklas Lidstrom’s hand after.

Yeah I am with you on that as I have written ad naseum the last few days. Draper behaved childishly and Lidstrom has no control as Captian of his locker room. Well I was with you until you said:
Crosby didn’t complain when Draper inexplicably stole his spot on Team Canada for the 2006 Winter Olympics. Canadians, however, complained when their low-octane team lost in the quarterfinals.

Honestly what the hell does the 2006 Canadian Olympic team have to do with this, and there was no need to take a jab and the Canadian National Team at all. The article continues on, complaining about Mike Babcock citing injuries and fatigue after the loss even though the Pens made sure to announce the injuries we were carrying yesterday. So it's an excuse if you lose and inspirational if you win, kthanks got it.

I think the last straw for me is Madden's complaining about the Wings fans complaining about the officiating. We all complained about it. Remember when Sergei Gonchar was dropped knee-to-knee by Alexander Ovechkin? Remeber when we all went scrambling for the rulebook to find 67.4 after Zetterberg covered a puck in the crease? We all ran and got our torches and pitchforks. Were we right or wrong? It really doesn't matter. What does matter is that it is hypocrtical to call another fan base out for doing exactly what we were doing. Guess what? When your team is losing or playing badly, you will, as a fan will seek to blame the officials. We all do it. Stop beaitng a dead horse. It really feels like you have an intrinsic need to continue to seek some sort of retribution or revenge on the Red Wings and their fans.

Guess what, we just got it, we won the Stanley Cup in their house in Game 7. Top that with another craptastic article Mark. I dare ya.
